Riley Tufts earned her Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Prior to joining Biocore, Riley worked as a Mechanical Engineering Technician at the Center for Applied Biomechanics, where she contributed to multiple projects in a laboratory setting related to injury prevention in military research applications. Specifically, she used Vicon Nexus motion capture systems and MATLAB to examine changes in spine curvature among helicopter pilots during flight. Additionally, she designed various testing fixtures using SolidWorks to increase the efficiency of testing procedure. She will be contributing to Biocore as a member of the Hardware Engineering team.
